Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is de grote winnaar op The Game Awards
Met negen awards heeft de game een nieuw record te pakken
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is afgelopen nacht uitgeroepen tot game van het jaar tijdens The Game Awards. Daarbij heeft de game meer awards op de show binnen weten te halen dan alle voorgaande spellen.
Naast de award voor game van het jaar won de Clair Obscur ook awards in categorieën als beste indiegame, beste soundtrack, beste verhaal, beste art director, beste game direction en beste acteerprestatie voor Jennifer English. In totaal won de game negen verschillende awards - een nieuw record. The Last of Us: Part 2 was de vorige recordhouder met zeven awards op The Game Awards.
In de categorie beste game van het jaar nam Clair Obscur het op tegen de games Hades 2, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Hollow Knight Silksong en Donkey Kong Bananza. Hieronder is te zien hoe Clair Obscur de award voor game van het jaar won.
Om te vieren dat Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 de award voor game van het jaar heeft gewonnen, heeft ontwikkelaar Sandfall Interactive een nieuwe gratis update voor de game als bedankje uitgebracht.
Deze update voegt een nieuwe omgeving toe om te verkennen, namelijk Verso's Drafts. Dit wispelturige verhaal met schilderachtige graphics laat spelers nieuwe Gestrals tegenkomen en bevat nieuwe muziek van de awardwinnende componist Lorien Testard. Ook kunnen spelers krachtige nieuwe uitrusting en Pictos vrijspelen. Verder is er nu een fotomodus en ondersteuning voor FSR 4 op pc.
Andere games die in de prijzen vielen, waren onder andere Hades 2, Battlefield 6, South of Midnight, No Man's Sky, The Midnight Walk, Hollow Knight Silksong, Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza en Arc Raiders.
